Hafeez Johar

حفیظ جوہرؔ

Hafeez Johar was one of a new breed of Urdu poets who came to Britain as a 13-year old, grew up in a wider British environment and imbibed Asian cultural values from the backyard of his parental home. His work has been published nationally and internationally in newspapers and magazines in Britain and across India and Pakistan. He has to his credit a collection of poems entitled Barf Ka Roag (misery of snow) which was published in 1995. His diction was modern and his poetry subjects came from the west.
